ApoA, ApoB, ApoB:ApoA ratio and Lp(a) blood tests

At Preventicum, we carry out over 50 blood tests in all our assessments, which are grouped into key profiles to provide a detailed picture of your overall health. These include haematology, biochemistry, liver function, blood fats (lipids) and endocrinology.

Each profile examines essential markers related to organ function, inflammation, cardiovascular risk, hormonal balance and nutritional status. Where clinically indicated, additional tests such as PSA may also be performed.

In addition, our Optimal and Optimal+ Assessments exclusively include ApoA, ApoB, ApoB:ApoA ratio and Lp(a) blood tests to provide deeper insights into cardiovascular risk. These tests complement our existing Lp-PLA2 test which measures artery inflammation. ApoA reflects protective ‘good’ cholesterol, ApoB is involved in lipid transportation and reflects the number of harmful cholesterol particles and Lp(a) identifies inherited heart risk. Lp(a) will be tested at your first Optimal Assessment only as levels are primarily determined by genetics and generally remain stable, meaning a one-time test is sufficient. Together, these advanced markers offer a clearer picture of cardiovascular health and can help guide early prevention or treatment.
